Mary Thompson

For over two decades, Mary Thompson has been an Ayurvedic educator and a heart-centered mentor to Ayurvedic practitioners.  She finds her greatest joy in supporting graduates as they stepped into their professional lives as Ayurvedic Health Counselors and Ayurvedic Practitioners. After more than twenty years in the classroom, she left teaching at the California College of Ayurveda in 2018, to develop her own business supporting and mentoring practitioners.  Never far from the classroom, she began collaborating with a number of schools and programs, preparing curriculum and teaching both on site and online.  She has been widely published in Yoga and Ayurveda periodicals and has presented at local, state, and international conferences both in-person and online. Now she enjoys finding ways to continue to support students and practitioners through podcasts, workshops and online continuing education.  The Ayurvedic Approach Practitioner Support Program offered here is her latest effort to continue supporting Ayurvedic Professionals.

Suzanne Ropiequet

Suzanne is currently acting as co-director with Mary Thompson and webmaster for The Ayurvedic Approach. Starting her career in the high-tech industry in the early 80s, Suzanne turned her attention to studying Vedic philosophy, meditation, Yoga, and hypnotherapy in the 90s. This brought her into contact with Ayurveda, which she began earnestly studying in 1998 at the California College of Ayurveda (CCA), and later at the Ayurvedic Institute, Mount Madonna Institute (MMI), Ayurved Sadhana, and several locations in India. Suzanne has practiced Ayurveda for several years, with an innovative specialty that combines Ayurvedic principles with south Indian body therapies and hypnotherapy.  She is also a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, panchakarma clinician, and licensed massage therapist, and has served as faculty CCA and program coordinator for MMI for several years.  While working with Mary to develop The Ayurvedic Approach, Suzanne also works in the pharmaceutical industry as an e-publisher and is pursuing her Master’s in Ayurveda degree with Mount Madonna Institute.
